UVA held these competitions within the architecture school to encourage vertical collaboration within the classes and reach out to the Charlottesville community. Students in randomly assigned groups were tasked with designing creative solutions to an issue affecting the local neighborhoods. The final presentations were judged by the public, the faculty, the students, and a panel of judges invited from outside the school.
